Today, we had the task to go outside and capture of images of subjects of our choosing and convert them into black and white on Lightroom although the camera I was using had a black and white capturing mode.
Getting some nice fresh air from the campus grounds was really nice, to make the walk more fun I tagged along with my classmates Brad & Mel. I captured a diverse set of images, which have all been edited in light room classic to boost certain textures and adjust some of the shadows and highlights. Health & SafetyAs we are leaving, the campus there are some safety precautions that needed to be taken to ensure the safety of me and my classmates.
Images(Edits)Image NO.1- This is an image of an interesting plant I found inside the college, I found the spikes in the centre of the plant really interesting it almost looks like a cactus plant. I edited this image, and altered the clarity, texture and exposure.
Image NO.2- In this image I captured a plane and its air trail, it almost looks like a comet. I captured some trees in the foreground to fill the image, Im really happy with how the image turned out and how the trees are a black silhouette against the sky.
Image NO.3- For this image I found a shipping container, I went close up to get some of the rust and decay and it turned out really interesting. For my editing in LightRoom Classic I increased the clarity and texture to get that rawness and improve image quality.
Image NO.5- This image I captured indoors, of the ceiling light in one of the halls it really appealed to me once I saw it I was already taking pictures of it. For editing of this image I increased the exposure to make it darker, and also increased the contrast.
Image NO.7- I really found the stairs outside the college really interesting, me and my classmate Bradley both had the same idea to take pictures on them. It was a bit scary climbing the stairs although they weren't that high but I took a really ghostly image. It almost looks like a light house stairs, you can also see the imprint of my shoe which really gives the image a mysterious tone.
Image NO.9- In this final image, I was walking past the windows inside the college and found these trees that I thought would be amazing to take an image of. I edited the image, to give it a soft and more elegant touch by reducing the textures and adding a haze effect on Lightroom.
Overall I'm really pleased with all my images I think these are the best photographs I have ever taken there's almost a story behind the images. If I were to do this again I would like to go a busy city location, to gather more a variety of images as majority of my images are of nature.
