ComparisonBoth imaging software's were exceptional, although Lightroom Classic being more professional than Polish it still allowed editing to a high standard.
Polish being free and on mobile, makes it more accessible than Lightroom Classic. Lightroom on the other hand, being a part of the Adobe Creative Cloud is a paid subscription and is better accessed on a computer. Another thing I liked about Polish, was its wide range of photo filters and effects although Lightroom does have effects it doesn't have an expansive list like Polish. Lightroom being the more professional software, obviously had a better lay out and overall better editing setting and can utilised in conjunction with Photoshop for crisp editing. A problem that I frequently ran into with Polish was it being a mobile app, there were a lot of ads which Lightroom didn't have. Lightroom also allows for masking something that I couldn't find on the Polish app.

Today, we had the task to go outside and capture of images of subjects of our choosing and convert them into black and white on Lightroom although the camera I was using had a black and white capturing mode.
Getting some nice fresh air from the campus grounds was really nice, to make the walk more fun I tagged along with my classmates Brad & Mel. I captured a diverse set of images, which have all been edited in light room classic to boost certain textures and adjust some of the shadows and highlights. Health & SafetyAs we are leaving, the campus there are some safety precautions that needed to be taken to ensure the safety of me and my classmates.
Images(Edits)Image NO.1- This is an image of an interesting plant I found inside the college, I found the spikes in the centre of the plant really interesting it almost looks like a cactus plant. I edited this image, and altered the clarity, texture and exposure.
Image NO.2- In this image I captured a plane and its air trail, it almost looks like a comet. I captured some trees in the foreground to fill the image, Im really happy with how the image turned out and how the trees are a black silhouette against the sky.
Image NO.3- For this image I found a shipping container, I went close up to get some of the rust and decay and it turned out really interesting. For my editing in LightRoom Classic I increased the clarity and texture to get that rawness and improve image quality.
Image NO.5- This image I captured indoors, of the ceiling light in one of the halls it really appealed to me once I saw it I was already taking pictures of it. For editing of this image I increased the exposure to make it darker, and also increased the contrast.
Image NO.7- I really found the stairs outside the college really interesting, me and my classmate Bradley both had the same idea to take pictures on them. It was a bit scary climbing the stairs although they weren't that high but I took a really ghostly image. It almost looks like a light house stairs, you can also see the imprint of my shoe which really gives the image a mysterious tone.
Image NO.9- In this final image, I was walking past the windows inside the college and found these trees that I thought would be amazing to take an image of. I edited the image, to give it a soft and more elegant touch by reducing the textures and adding a haze effect on Lightroom.
Overall I'm really pleased with all my images I think these are the best photographs I have ever taken there's almost a story behind the images. If I were to do this again I would like to go a busy city location, to gather more a variety of images as majority of my images are of nature. It's crazy how expansive photography is; how many different sorts of photography there are and how unique they are. We took a look at some of the different genres/categories of art, and did a mind map and choose out 5 types of photography to research and analyse. Astro PhotographyAstrological Photography, as suggested by the name is photography of the stars which I found quite interesting and possibly something I want to explore as astrology is one of my hobbies. I think this type of photography would be very difficult in our area due to light pollution. Key technqiues
Car PhotographyCars being another one of my interests, would be something I would love to take photographs of there are such a wide variety of different types of cars, eras, makes and models so there is no way I will run out of photographs to take. Action ShotThis a beautifully, well timed shot of a rally car in action. Its well set, as rally cars are typically found on dirt tracks. The car has so very interesting vinyl stickers on it with complimentary colours green and red. The detail in this image is extraordinary, all the flicked up dirt and dust really adds to the image and also fills void spaces. I would imagine this image was taken on film, as it would be hard to capture as a standard image. Car partsIn this image we can see a car engine, judging by the shape and the front grille its an older car. In addition the image is black and white possibly to insinuate the car being old. I find zooming in on car parts interesting especially the mechanical engine parts, it really gives you an insight to the complexity of cars. Night PhotographyNight photography, also linking in with painting with light would be something I would love to explore I'm fascinated with what visual representation you can produce with the light and the concept of star trials.
